You may have already heard that among cooking oils, Grapeseed Oil is a healthy favorite. Unlike Olive oil, the flavor is so light and neutral that it won’t alter the taste of your foods. It is great for sauteing, grilling, using in vinegar dressings, and even deep frying due to the stability, and high-temperature smoke point.
JR Watkins Grapeseed Oil is a superb choice. It is versatile, light, and practically odorless and tasteless. Excellent as a dipping oil or for use on pasta, it contains zero Trans fats, and no gluten or distilled white vinegar. A serving size of 1 Tablespoon contains 120 calories.
Health Benefits of Grapeseed Oil
Because Grape seeds are full of potent antioxidants known as Oligomeric Proanthocyanidin Complexes (OPCs) they help fight free radicals which can contribute to premature aging and numerous chronic diseases. OPC compounds have been show to benefit the body in many other ways. They are antiviral, antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, anti-carcinogenic, anti-mutagenic, and more.
At only 8%, Grapeseed oil is very low in saturated fat. By contrast, olive oil contains double that amount. Grapeseed oil is high in polyunsaturated fat which helps raise good cholesterol (HDL), and lower bad cholesterol (LDL) and triglycerides. The percentage of linoleic acid is high (between 65 and 72 percent) in Grapeseed oil. Linoleic acid converts to conjugated-linoleic acid (CLA) which reduces cancer, cardiovascular disease, osteoporosis, and improves weight loss. (PubMed Reference).
Grapeseed Oil also contains about twice the amount of Vitamin E (an antioxidant) as Olive oil, along with other powerful antioxidants!

The JR Watkins Natural Care Dish Soap receives a great review here from Mike Jones of www.mikejones.com. He is dedicated to finding natural products to help promote clean living and a clean lifestyle. I think you will enjoy his presentation as much as I did.
I’ve been using the JR Watkins dish soap myself and I’m pleasantly surprised. The other “top brands” tend to get sort of slimy and greasy near the end of hand-washing dishes, especially if you’re a bit lazy like me and let the dishes soak a bit too long. With Watkins Moisturizing Dish Soap, I found that coming back to a sink full of dishes sitting in lukewarm water did not require me to change the water. It wasn’t greasy or slimy at all!

In this video review, a young woman begins discussing JR Watkins Petro Carbo Salve. At one point, she mentions “the red and green tins” they come in. Please understand the “Green Tin” is not the same “first aid salve” as the Petro Carbo. The Green Tin is actually a Camphor and Menthol Medicated Cough Suppressant Rub that CAN be used for pain and itching of minor burns, cuts and sunburn, but is primarily used for treating minor aches and pains of muscles and joints, and for congestion or cough associated with a cold, similar to VicksTM.
Halfstack Magazine Online gives a great review of JR Watkins Foot Repair Salve and Cream. This blogger also mentions her appreciation for JR Watkins cleaning supplies and lotions.
My personal favorite of these two is the Foot Repair Salve, especially after a “Home Spa Treatment”, while the Foot Repair Cream is great for in-between spa treatments. The peppermint base of each really helps reinvigorate sore and tired feet. Some ladies, suffering menopausal hot flashes, will apply a little of the Cream around their neck to aid in producing a natural cooling sensation.
